What will I be doing in this role?

As a member of the B2B Marketing team, the Associate Director, B2B Marketing (Payer Promotions) is a key member of the team responsible for setting the overall marketing strategy for Cedars-Sinai. The AD, B2B Marketing will be tasked with developing and implementing marketing objectives, strategies, and tactics aimed at growing Cedars-Sinai revenue via various “payers” of healthcare. These may include health insurance companies, Medicare Advantage plans, delegated medical groups, Independent Practice Associations, and employers. Objectives will include promotion to support obtaining lucrative contracts, capturing patients via their managed care membership or employer, and positioning products and services to B2B audiences to drive growth for the organization. The role will collaborate cross-functionally with internal partners to enable consistent application of the Cedars-Sinai brand and ensure seamless utilization of clinical and financial content across appropriate channels. Will establish metrics and goals/success criteria and landmarks that align with organizational goals and will measure the effectiveness of marketing plans. Duties include:

  • In collaboration with the managed care team / Payer Relations, develop strategies and messaging to continue campaign supporting value.
  • Develop complex marketing strategy and manage the ongoing implementation of fact-based, goal-focused, measurable marketing programs which are consistent with Cedars-Sinai’s strategic vision, to produce a return on investment (ROI) via business from payers (e.g., health insurance companies, Medicare Advantage plans, delegated medical groups, IPAs and employers).
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies and tactics aimed at growing Medicare Advantage, via plans, consumers, and brokers.
  • Develops and implement marketing strategies and tactics aimed at selective growth of Medi-Cal managed care.
  • Collaborate with the managed care team and other identified departments to achieve marketing objectives. Provide strategic direction, leadership and motivation ensuring that all parties work together to achieve the bottom-line measured results.
  • Provide guidance for and resolves complex challenges.
  • Initiate and direct the annual payer marketing planning by reviewing demographic, socioeconomic, competitive, competitor position and other internal/external forces affecting continued business success.
  • Develops and manages complex short- and long-term marketing objectives to capitalize on identified opportunities. 
  • Ensures that marketing initiatives are tracked and measured in order to monitor their effectiveness. Reports outcomes to senior management.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or another related field is required.
  • A minimum of eight years of progressive marketing experience at a large, complex healthcare organization or payer (e.g., health insurance company or health system) required.
  • A minimum of two years of managerial experience supervising direct reports within a department and/or service line required.

  • Promotion to the payer audience
  • Solid project management, analytic and organizational skills: able to coordinate multiple complex projects with varied scope and impact simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and use Excel spreadsheets for data tracking and analysis.
  • Ability to identify problems and resourcefulness to resolve them and then independently move forward with those initiatives.
  • Ability to multi-task within short timelines, organize and prioritize work and complete assignments in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with staff members at all levels of the organization as well as with external partners.
  • Highly organized, patient, persistent and requires minimal supervision in performing assigned tasks.
