What you will be doing in this role:
The Communications Specialist will develop and implement strategic communications plans and activities to promote and support Cedars-Sinai’s internal and patient/visitor-facing initiatives. This individual will play a key role in identifying strategic, innovative news, feature and communications ideas for various internal and patient/visitor-facing communications channels; write and develop stories, collateral materials and other content; edit written materials; assist in the production of internal publications and updates. The Communications Specialist will work closely with leadership on the Organizational Communications team alongside key Cedars-Sinai partners to assist with communications initiatives and special projects, including support of communications campaigns, development of FAQs and talking points, writing of memos and announcements, and support of other employee and patient/visitor-facing projects. The Communications Specialist will need to demonstrate exceptional, accurate writing ability and highly effective, courteous, professional and respectful communication skills in daily interactions with physicians, nurses, staff members and others. This individual will manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast paced, high-volume environment with frequent interruptions. This individual will also need to be extremely comfortable learning various technological platforms to support their work.
The Communications Specialist will collaborate with Organizational Communications colleagues to effectively represent Cedars-Sinai’s priorities and needs in the context of larger internal and patient/visitor-facing communications strategies. The Communication Specialist will also collaborate with others in Marketing and Communications and with other Cedars-Sinai programs, staff and faculty to execute projects. This person must be a true team-oriented collaborator, who:
- Writes, edits and publishes content for Cedars-Sinai staff to support internal facing and patient/visitor-facing programs, projects, and events.
- Develops communication plans; coordinates the design and production of communication materials, collateral, etc.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with cross-functional partners to effectively plan and execute appropriate communications support.
- Manages projects from development to completion; creates project schedules and timelines.

Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public health, marketing, public/media relations, media relations or another relevant major is required.
- A minimum of three years' experience writing, editing, delivering in-depth content, project management or related communications experience required.
