Under the leadership of the Associate Director, the Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for coordinating the daily twenty-four (24) hour operations of the assigned patient care in order to provide quality, individualized patient care and in support of Medical Center philosophies.
Job Duties- Function as a leader and an expert professional practitioner, and assume responsibility and accountability for the expert application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care.
- Consistently demonstrate professional skills and abilities and apply your knowledge base and exemplary leadership and education skills to direct and supervise the clinical performance of others.
- Ensuring staff perform within their scope of responsibility and duties, and ensures accountability at the facility, department and position levels, including knowledge of required clinical/technical skills consistent with the Nurse Practice Act. Nursing job duties meet requirements of the Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, Joint Commission, The Plan for Provision of Nursing Care, The Plan for Provision of Care to Patients and other regulatory requirements.
- Promoting and practice compliance with the National Patient Safety Goals.
- Support quality improvement and clinical care delivery processes; staffing, scheduling, and retention of staff; safety and quality management; and participation on unit practice council.
- Assist with all processes applicable to assigned unit(s), including human resources, budgeting, staffing, quality improvement planning and educational develop programs.
- You will supervise and be responsible for exhibiting maximum growth and development of each employee.
Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
- BSN Degree Required
- MSN/MHA Preferred
License/Certification/Registration Requirements:
- CA Registered Nurse License
- BLS from American Heart Assoc.
- Specialty Certification or obtain within 1 year
Experience:
- 5+ years experience in neuroloogy including 2 years in supervisory role
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the trends and forces crafting the healthcare delivery system, the provision of care, and other emerging issues in healthcare management.
- Demonstrated effective leadership and supervisory experience in clinical, patient, or specialty field (oncology).
- Demonstrated flexibility and initiative to effectively lead change efforts to respond to environmental or organizational changes. Demonstrated outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated fiscal management capabilities, including effective expense reduction, utilization management, and budget control.
