Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The Transporter will transport patients to and from the Diagnostic Imaging Department, and within the hospital. The Transporter performs all job duties with sensitivity and attention to the age and developmental issues of the population(s) served: neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. They will maintain competency skills, including the ability to deliver safe transportation to patients with diverse cultural backgrounds, identify and express safety concerns, and institute safety measures.
The Transporter effectively communicates with patients regarding destination and scheduled exam, and makes needed adjustments for transporting patients according to age and medical condition. They will effectively use of all relevant telecommunications equipment including desk phones, cellular phones and pagers. Consistently apply customer service excellence and communication interaction techniques. Transporter will adhere to MDRH compliance plan, code of conduct, and hospital policies. They must be able to assist and at times, lift patient onto gurney or into wheelchair.
• Escorts/transports patients to and from the Imaging department and within CSMH following all health and safety protocols as established by MDRH.
• Clean and maintain equipment as needed.
• Provides safe, direct observation of patients being transported.
• May assist technologist in preparing patient for his/her exam.
• May maintain par levels in Imaging procedure rooms to ensure availability of equipment and supplies.
• Maintain adequate clean linen levels and removes soiled linen as required.
• Manages multiple confliction priorities and copes with daily stresses.
• Effectively uses information system as required.
• Completes assignments satisfactorily and within established time frames.
• Communicates and refers questions, concerns and problems to Coordinator, Supervisor, Manager or Director.
•Engages in positive inter/intra departmental communication to assist in achieving the desired result for the customer.
• Performs other related duties, special projects or assignments as requested.
• Must be acquainted with local fire and safety regulations

Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
- High School diploma or its equivalent
License/Certifications:
- BLS through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (required)
Experience:
- Windows Based PC experience
- Experience in health care environment preferred

Our compensation philosophy
We offer a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base pay range shown generally applies to the greater Los Angeles area and may vary based on work location. Our range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including knowledge/skills: relevant experience and training, education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors.
