Imaging and Radiology Careers!

Centered in the S. Mark Taper Foundation Imaging Center, a division of Cedars-Sinai, we offer an opportunity to be part of a world-class medical center. Here, you’ll utilize the latest technology to care for each patient while also learning new skills and growing your career. Every day, you’ll work alongside American Board of Radiology-certified specialists as well as Technologists certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

As part of this team, you can help advance the science of imaging by taking part in pioneering research. We offer a state-of-the-art digital and filmless picture archiving and communication system (PACS) that allows former patients to instantly access prior scans, and deliver image-guided, minimally invasive procedures to help diagnose and treat conditions.

We’re accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) national agencies in all areas of imaging. We’ve also won awards and earned recognition for excellence in patient care. Our radiologists and imaging specialists are board certified by the American Board of Radiology in their respective subspecialties serving patients through our various locations.

Areas of Radiology 

Breast Imaging

As part of this team, you’ll use the latest technology to help provide a multitude of breast imaging modalities that address the special needs of women at every stage of life.

As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in performing screening and diagnostic mammograms (2D and 3D) as well as assist our breast imaging specialists with screening and diagnostic ultrasound procedures, ultrasound-guided breast biopsies, stereotactic biopsies and ultrasound/Mammo-guided radar localizations. 

With a total of 9 state-of-the-art Hologic Mammography units and 8 dedicated GE breast ultrasound rooms, you will have access to top-tier equipment to support your expertise.  Additionally, our Tech Assistants provide invaluable support by assisting patients with gowning and follow-up exams, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional patient care. Computed Tomography (CT or CAT) Scans

Working on the leading edge of imaging tech, you’ll be a part of Imaging Gently and Imaging Wisely, which are American College of Radiology programs dedicatedto the wise use of radiation in medical imaging. We’re a 24/7 department, managing ten CT scanners in total. This includes two in the Emergency Department and two at campus satellites. Among them are two GE 320 slice, two GE 256 slice and a dedicated Siemens Force 192-slice Cardiac Scanner. You’ll be supported by Tech Assistants to move, position, escort and gown patients and work in a structed environment where we scan patients on 15- and 30-minute increments.

Interventional Radiology

You’ll be part of a team specializing in minimally invasive, image-guided treatments. New advances allow these minimally invasive yet highly targeted techniques to treat many conditions that once required traditional surgery.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

Teaming up with highly trained, subspecialized imaging physicians, you’ll perform the full range of MRI studies using the latest technology. The bores on our newest MRI scanners are 33% wider than on older machines and are also shorter, making them more patient-friendly including introducing aromatherapy as an alternative to anesthesia for patients who are claustrophobic.

We operate a 24/7 department overseeing 10 Siemens MRIs, 6 located at our main Taper Imaging and the remaining 4 at our two campus satellites. These MRIs consist of 3Ts and 1.5Ts. In addition to standard MRI studies, our Technologists execute a diverse array of specialized protocols, including for Brain, Prostate, Endometriosis, and metal artifact reduction.

Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging

Our facility boasts an impressive range of diagnostic equipment using the latest technology, including 3 PET/CT scanners (2 dedicated to Oncology and 1 for Cardiac NM) 3 SPECT/CT scanners (2 for clinical Nuclear Medicine and 1 for Cardiac NM), one Cardiac CTZ scanner, 2 dual-head gamma cameras, 1 portable single-head gamma camera, and a Thyroid probe. In addition, our lab encompasses a Nuclear Theranostics area, and a Nuclear Pharmacy staffed by 2 Nuclear Pharmacists and a Pharmacy tech. Supporting our operations are 5 Nuclear Medicine physicians, 3 Physicists who oversee all imaging areas, 3 dedicated Nurse Practitioners, 2 Exercise Physiologists, a Computer Analyst and 2 Department Assistants.                 

Imaging Technology

Working in our imaging center, you’ll work with the very latest technology and offer leading-edge care to your patients in a variety of areas.                         

Radiology Tech (X-Ray Tech)

Working as part of a team, you’ll perform a full range of X-ray studies, including fluoroscopy on equipment that includes C-ARMS, O-ARMS, Radlink DR-PROs, and portable machines. We also operate five Carestream exam rooms and five Siemens exam rooms. Each shift, you could perform as many as 30 exams for patients.
