What will you be doing in this role?
Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor and/or the Lead Craftworker, the Senior Craftworker performs investigative examination of repairs; makes appropriate corrections/repairs within their ability or makes referrals to the appropriate Operations Supervisor or Hospitality Center. Sets priorities and handles multiple projects or assignments and meets completion schedules within established time frames. Complete assigned service work-orders, and preventive maintenance using the department work order system. Uses various hand tools and testing instruments to accomplish assigned tasks. Reports appropriate corrections/repairs and makes referrals to the appropriate Operations Supervisor, Lead Craftworker, Hospitality Center or specialty shops. Performs other related duties as required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sets priorities and handles multiple projects or assignments and meets completion schedules within established time frames
- Complete assigned service workorders, and preventive maintenance using the departments workorder system.
- Document all pertinent data, work time, and supplies used in the departments workorder system daily.
- Signs in/out and is financially responsible for radios, keys, and other medical center equipment assigned in order to perform duties.
- Communicates with customers in a positive manner. Makes contact on a routine basis and works closely with Operation Supervisors to improve customer service.
- Assist with troubleshooting and collaborative projects with the goal of improving efficiency, skill and department responsiveness.
- Performs such tasks as assigned by the Operations Supervisor or designee.
- Performs preventive maintenance as assigned.
- Expected to train in various skills of other crafts.
- Accountable for tools and equipment.
- Performs related maintenance and departmental tasks as required.
- Observes safety regulations and practices as required by codes and CSMC policies.

Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED - Required
- Minimum two (2) years at an apprentice level of the craft or trade is required
- General Maintenance skills required; preferred in a hospital setting
- Able to read blueprints and schematics - Preferred
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Computer proficiency is a requirement.
