What will you be doing in this role?
The Environmental Services Floor Care Technician is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the medical center and its outlying buildings in order to provide a clean, sanitary and attractive environment for patients, visitors and employees. The technician must work collaboratively with the Hospitality Center and Patient Care Center.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Determines accurate equipment and supplies that is needed in performing job duties
- Strip and wax, scrub and recoat floors
- Vacuum and shampoo carpets
- Buffing and maintaining hard floors
- Keeps equipment clean and in good condition
- Reports immediately to his/her assignment in accordance to the workflow
- Remove any equipment vital prior to the start of your task
- Dust mops the floor for any loose debris and remove any gum residue
- Use chemicals crafted for equipment to be used
- Using accurate chemical dilution ratios by following manufacturer’s specifications
- Ensures no residue is left on the baseboard and kick plates or stainless-steel surfaces
- Uses caution signs or caution tape appropriately when performing any project work that can result in a personal injury
- Removal of trash and mop floors as advised
- Reports the need for maintenance repairs to the Hospitality Center
- Reports equipment repairs by following department procedure
- Communicates with customers in a positive and professional manner. Makes contact on a routine basis and works closely with Supervisor to improve customer service
- Practices standard precaution and accurate infection control

Qualifications
Work Experience:
- One (1) year floor care experience
- Two (2) years cleaning experience in a hospital, school or hotel highly preferred.
