What will you be doing in this role?
The Operations Supervisor, Environmental Services (EVS) is responsible for the daily twenty-four (24) hour planning, organizing, directing and control of the daily operations of assigned areas, in order to meet the needs of all customers and support of Medical Center philosophies. The Operations Supervisor, under the direction of the EVS Manager, directs, coordinates, and supports the activities of a team of Supervisors and staff engaged in providing the highest level of environmental standards to all areas throughout the Medical Center. The Operations Supervisor serves as a liaison with medical staff and other personnel, promotes the maximum growth and development of each employee, supports research, participates in strategic planning, both long and short term, and assures patient advocacy. The Ops Supervisor is accountable to the EVS Manager. The Ops Supervisor guides staff in meeting customer's needs consistent with the Medical Center's; philosophy, mission, vision, strategic plan, The Plan for Provision of Patient Care, The Performance Improvement Plan and Professional Organization Standards. Maintains competency skills including the ability to interact with customers with diverse cultural backgrounds.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for department staffing schedule and re-evaluation of staffing needs on a daily basis. Collaborates with Manager in the hiring process of employees.
- In collaboration with the Manager, develops business and operations plans for the department and for specific programs and services within it.
- Establishes patient assessment processes to provide a safe and clean environment to our patients. Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services.
- Supervises the support of patient care and ensures optimal levels and continuous improvement of service quality within the department for all service line customers. Maintains appropriate quality control programs.
- Provides leadership, coaching and opportunities for professional development to facilitate self-directed work processes, collaboration and focus on quality patient care outcomes.

- High School Diploma/GED - Required
Experience:
- Minimum two (2) years Environmental Service (EVS), Hospitality, or Janitorial/custodial experience
- Minimum Two (2) years direct supervisory experience required.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Computer proficiency is a requirement.
