Requisition # 148019

The Division of General Internal Medicine (GIM) is seeking a dynamic, academically-oriented clinician educator (hospitalist or primary care) to assist with oversight of resident physician education, hospital quality improvement initiatives, research collaborations, and/or other academic endeavors.

The Cedars-Sinai Division of General Internal Medicine (GIM) is a vibrant and collaborative group of faculty hospitalists and general internists whose primary mission is to teach internal medicine residents and students the care of general medical patients in the hospital and in the clinics through hands-on training and supervision. All the faculty hospitalists and general internists play a vital role in the mentorship and education of our housestaff in the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program as well as rotating medical students. Collectively, the faculty within the Division of GIM also devote substantial time to academic administration and physician leadership, curriculum development and implementation, medical informatics, hospital and clinic quality improvement initiatives, programs related to health equity/social determinants of health, grant-funded health services research, and advanced medical procedures, among others. Opportunities exist for professional advancement in all of these areas, with current opportunities in graduate medical education leadership and/or scholarship.

Established in 1961, the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program has ~100 trainees across three pathways (categorical, primary care, and physician-scientist training program) and a one-year preliminary program. The program values equity and inclusivity for all and offers a carefully curated and well-rounded education, close contact with faculty, a tightly knit community of residents, and outstanding preparation for academic and clinically oriented careers. The GIM Inpatient Faculty Teaching Service cares for medically complex and high-need populations from under-resourced communities across Los Angeles. For trainees exploring research careers, the new Cedars-Sinai Research and Investigation Specialty Experience provides intensive support.

As an Associate Program Director, you will partner with the Program Director to:

·set an overall vision and approach to training resident physicians;

·oversee training activities;

·assist with recruitment;

·promote scholarly activities including research;
