A Little More About What You Will be Doing
The CT Technologist position provides the essential service of generating Computed Tomography (CT) images of the body for diagnostic purposes with diagnostic imaging equipment, as directed by Radiologists, in accordance with the company policies and procedure manuals.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares and checks patients prior to CT procedure.
- Acquires patient questionnaire, chart, data/requisition, and reviews all to determine contraindication of having CT examination.
- Verifies and validates patient screening safety form. Performs CT procedures required per protocol and performs daily QA.
- Performs VNA punctures and maintains competencies.
- Educates patients regarding CT procedures, equipment, and exam.
- Ensures patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam.
- May assist with scheduling of patients as needed.
- Administers proper contrast related to patient having CT exam.
- Acquires, archives, transmits, and prints images via PACS. When applicable, completes after hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork.
- Performs Daily and Monthly CT QC.
- Immediately reports any malfunctions; observes potential equipment dysfunctions and reports problems or calls for service.
- Maintains available equipment up-time at the highest level for patient accessibility.
- Learns new technical information and skills.
- May be required to rotate through all imaging modalities, sites, and/or locations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
- Vocational/Technical Diploma. Completion of course in Radiologic technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Licenses:
- Imaging Registered Rad Tech Current certification (ARRT) with the American Registry of Radiology Technologists ARRT (CT) Certification.
- Imaging CA Radiologic Tech Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) in the State of California.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
- Fluoroscopy license and experience with a strong musculoskeletal background preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year experience as a General Radiologic Technologist and experience in CT imaging modalities preferred.
