The Department of Cardiology, Smidt Heart Institute at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center has an exciting opportunity for a clinician-scientist to join our nationally recognized program within our Echocardiography Section. The Smidt Heart Institute is widely recognized as a leader in the delivery of cardiovascular care and a pioneer in the development of new treatments and diagnostic tools. Since 2018, Cedars-Sinai Cardiology/Cardiac Surgery was rated in the top three nationally in U.S. News and World Report Top Hospitals. The Department of Cardiology is one of the largest departments within the Cedars-Sinai Health System with over 170 faculty and has world renowned programs in cardiovascular imaging, advanced heart disease, interventional cardiology, cardiac electrophysiology, women’s health, hypertension, and regenerative medicine.
The successful candidate will have clinical, academic, and research responsibilities focused primarily on echocardiography within the Non-Invasive Cardiology section of the Department of Cardiology. The candidate shall be skilled and qualified in the performance and interpretation of transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography and will support the academic and scholastic activities within the department. The optimal candidate would also have a successful research program focused on cardiac imaging. The candidate may also support the provision of care in our ambulatory clinics.

Our compensation philosophy
We offer competitive total compensation that includes pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. We also offer a comprehensive faculty benefits package.
Pay Range: $365,172-$598,963 Total Cash Compensation.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
· Graduate of an accredited ACGME/AOA cardiology and subspecialty training in echocardiography.
· Board certified with the ABIM in cardiology and board certified in echocardiography.
· Eligible for an unrestricted California license as Physician
· Ability to obtain and /or maintain DEA certification for the State of California.
· Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
· Eligible for appointment to the appropriate academic rank in the CSMC
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Exceptional collaboration abilities with partners and staff.
· Proven knowledge and success in clinical skills. Candidates should have experience in supporting medicine postgraduate fellowship training. Candidates should be recognized for the provision of clinical excellence.
· The ideal candidate will have a track-record of peer-reviewed publications and a desire to continue academic work
