What will you be doing:
The Cardiac Sonographer Level II supports patient care by performing echocardiogram procedures as advised by the physician. Shows strength with the use of ultrasound equipment and associated procedures. This position performs routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices of physicians and other health practitioners running efficiently.
- Demonstrates clinical proficiency and technical skills as Sonographer.
- Uses appropriate techniques with ultrasound equipment to supply diagnostic studies based upon physician request.
- Performs a range of technical procedures that will require independent judgment for diagnosis.
- Demonstrate capability to provide high quality imaging.
- Maintains knowledge about advanced imaging features to support enhanced capturing of data.
- Appropriately acquire echocardiographic measurements per protocol, create digital preliminary reports for the interpreting physician, and verbally communicate preliminary findings.
- Ability to review a physician order to verify appropriateness for order being performed.
- Acts as a role model in providing care; assists in Precepting Cardio Sonographers I.
- Retrieves studies from PACS for review.
- Performs appropriate infection control processes.
- Provides an environment of care that supports patient safety.
- Addresses patient educational needs as pertains to requested studies.
- Prepares patients for the study.
- Supports IAC Standards and Guidelines.
- Assures accuracy data for clinical reports, demographics and billing information for physician reports.
Qualifications
Experience Requirements:
Two (2) plus years of experience performing echocardiographic studies.
Education Requirements:
Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS).
