Job Description
The Accelerator Recruitment Associate is responsible for sourcing and engaging promising and diverse healthcare startups to expand development, engagement, and participation in the Cedars-Sinai Accelerator program. This role supports the entire lifecycle of the application and selection process including: researching companies and building a pipeline, engaging with companies and founders to fully understand their business, and assisting target companies through the application process. The Accelerator Recruitment Associate also sources potential investors for alumni and current companies within the Accelerator program and facilitates investment backing communication with appropriate parties
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct general research to seek out and identify companies to gauge interest and eligibility for the Cedars Sinai Accelerator Program. Conducts further market sector analysis with identified companies to determine areas of interest specifically within digital health, healthcare IT, medical devices, life sciences.
- Meets with founders and leaders of companies of interest to build a pipeline of companies and individuals for future accelerator opportunities. Develops a network of entrepreneurs, investors, and thought leaders to support the growth of the Accelerator Program.
- Manages logistics of the recruitment process for companies applying for participation into the Accelerator Program.
- Makes recommendations to Accelerator leadership regarding companies to invite to participate in the Accelerator program.
- Reviews and optimizes the application processes, including management of various application management software and identifying and implementing any efficiencies needed.
- Sources potential venture capital investors to build a pipeline of future investors for successful alumni companies and current accelerator participants. Actively engages with and presents detailed development opportunities to investors for consideration.
- Coordinates networking events that support expansion of diversity opportunities within the Accelerator Program. Identifies gaps in representation and determines priority recruitments based on predetermined criteria.
- Represents the Accelerator program at various networking conferences and events. Events are conducted with internal and external audiences. External audiences may include corporate partners, start-up employees, government officials and foreign dignitaries. The Associate will be responsible for maintaining communication with these audiences using various mediums of information (emails, phone calls, LinkedIn messaging, Slack and other platforms as identified.
Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
High school diploma/GED required
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Social Services or related degree preferred
Experience:
- Two years experience in market research, preferably in Healthcare required
- Two years experience in Business Development or sales in Healthcare or Healthcare Ventures required
- Two years experience with Venture Capital firm or Venture Funding preferred
- One year experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) applications, Familiarity with varying systems such as Affinity, Crunchbase, Pitchbook, AngelList, MailChimp, Sales Force, SquareSpace, and /or CB Insights Familiarity with publications such as Becker’s Hospital Review, Angellist, Modern HealthCare and/or Advisory Board, Event Planning preferred.
- One year experience with FDA process and other regulatory agencies (such as or Confirmite Europeenne (CE) preferred
