The Blood and Marrow Program was established in 1989 and has since performed more than 1,500 bone marrow transplants, including autologous, allogeneic related and CAR-T Therapy. The program has been a National Marrow Donor Program/Be The Match transplant center since 2001, and is authorized to treat patients with all commercially available CAR-T cell products.
The program is one of only two in the country offering bloodless bone marrow transplant to Jehovah's Witnesses with lymphoma, multiple myeloma and other blood cancers. Cedars-Sinai Blood and Marrow Transplant program ranks in the Top 10 in the U.S. for patient survival. The program’s one-year allogeneic transplant survival results are higher than the expected rate, with superior outcomes.
Summary of Essential Job Duties:
- Provide physician support and direct patient care primarily in outpatient setting.
- A Nurse Practitioner’s practice incorporates both independent decision-making abilities and collaboration with the board certified/eligible physician to provide expert care to the patients.
- Provides individualized care upholding CSHS philosophies including but not limited to care consistent with Nursing standards of Care/Practice, the Plan for Provision of Nursing Care, and the Plan for Provision of Patient Care, the Performance Improvement Plan, the Patient Education Plan, the professional Organization Standards, Code of Conduct, and hospital and departmental policies and procedure.
- Identify the ability of the age specific population served to follow direction/instructions and give consent.
- Recognize safety concerns and institute measures to provide safe environment and provide appropriate assessment, intervention, and evaluation of patients with consideration of developmental milestones in the population served.
Qualifications
Education:
- Master of Nursing Degree.
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse practitioner program approved by the California Board of Registered.
Experience:
- One (1) plus years’ experience as Nurse Practitioner preferred.
Licensure/Certifications:
- Current CA RN License.
- Nurse Practitioner and Furnishing License.
- National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Current DEA License.
- Current ACLS required.
- Oncology Certified Nurse highly preferred.
