What Will You Be Doing in This Role?
Job Summary:
The Gift Shop Clerk is responsible for supporting the successful day-to-day operations of a quality retail sales venue. Primary responsibilities include providing exceptional retail and customer service, while reporting to the Gift Shop Manager, assisting with sales, administrative and other gift shop related duties. Overseeing cashier duties, stocking and inventory, and handling merchandise while providing constant support of the gift shop and visitors. Collaborating with relevant stakeholders from across the organization.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Conducts day-to-day retail operations of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Gift Shop, while interfacing with customers, assisting in their purchasing needs.
- Responsible for having up to date knowledge of inventory on hand and location in showroom. Advises Gift Shop Manager of low stock or re-order requirements.
- Responsible for setting up displays, organizing and stocking merchandise, and accepting deliveries.
- Understands and utilizes digital Point of Sale system to produce reports at Gift Shop Manager request, including sales analysis, inventory management, customer relationship management, vendor files, reporting of cash revenues, etc.
- Assists Gift Shop Manager in implementing new ideas and concepts to enhance gift shop operations and sales experiences.
- Monitors online gift shop orders, ensuring orders are processed and deliveries are made in a timely fashion, while maintaining constant support of the physical gift shop and visitors to assist in a positive shopping experience plus providing surveillance to assist in loss prevention.
- Maintains general cleanliness of gift shop.
- Presents merchandise with enthusiasm, assisting in the selection process by making recommendations to consumers while answering all questions regarding merchandise, outlining features and benefits with accuracy.
- Supports customers in billing and payment processes.
- Conducts oneself in a manner that contributes to the achievement of short- and long-term operational goals while delivering on sales targets.
Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma/GED, (Minimum)
Assoc. Degree/College Diploma, (Preferred)
Bachelor's Degree, (Preferred)
Work Experience:
3 years Experience in retail operations (Minimum)
2 years Experience in a non-profit and/or health care setting (Preferred)
