Job Description

The Associate Director, Business Operations provides administrative leadership and direction within a specific division. The Associate Director, Business Operations manages the strategic planning, design, development implementation and financial management of department objectives, procedures, processes and optimizes fiscal prudence and budgetary compliance; work closely with the Executive Director of the division to ensure the operational efficiency, productivity and effectiveness of the divisional areas including the timely delivery of dashboards, fiscal responsibility and regulatory compliance. In collaboration with the Executive Directors, develops business and operation plans

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Provides administrative leadership to the development and ongoing financial operations, division projects and processes and procedures

Leads departmental projects across the division and with cross functional partners with oversight of logistics, process improvement, fiscal management capabilities, effective expense reduction, utilization management, budget control and revenue monitoring, and new revenue generation

In collaboration with the Executive Director, develops business and operation plans for the unit and for specific programs and services within it

Establishes financial measurement standards and develops proper systems to monitor performance against goals. 

Develops and leads performance improvement initiatives with Directors, vendors, cross functional partners and committees

Designs and carrys processes to ensure the availability of reports and information necessary to set goals, make decisions, and monitor performance transparently.

Develops tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information and makes actionable decisions on both strategy and operations

Oversees and assumes fiscal responsibility including budget preparation, capital, labor and supply cost management.

Contributes to the strategic planning, design, development, and implementation of departmental goals.

Oversees functionality of IT systems within areas of responsibility. 

Provides leadership, mentoring and professional development opportunities to facilitate self-directed work processes, collaboration and focus on quality outcomes. 

Collaborates with other managers and directors in cross functional process improvement, collaborative teamwork, open communication and problem solving to ensure the effective coordination and integration of services within and between departments

Promotes an organizational focus by establishing goals consistent with organizational goals, facilitating collaboration and coordination for interdepartmental problem-solving and supporting new concepts that enhance operations.


Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Business Management and/or related fied required.
  • Master’s degree in Healthcare Management, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Business Management and/or related fied preferred.

Experience and Skills:

  • 5 years of progressive leadership experience within a department, service-line, and/or related healthcare setting.
  • 5 years of experience working with Information Technology, Finance, Business Management/Operations, Medical Systems Databases that support the financial integration across physician practices.
