Seeking an energetic and motivated Physician Assistant to join our growing Ears Nose & Throat Division! Our team currently has 7 Physician Assistants and 16 ENT Physicians. The Physician Assistant role will consist of outpatient clinic duties delineated below. The Physician Assistant will also facilitate admissions and transfers from other hospitals, triage calls and take messages. Our Physician Assistants may travel to Marina Del Rey and Tarzana satellite locations to care for patients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- See patients in clinic, perform comprehensive physical examinations, and compile patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
- Administer or orders diagnostic tests, such as imaging, and laboratory tests, and interpret test results for deviations from normal.
- Perform in-office therapeutic procedures such as endoscopic evaluations, injections, suturing, suture removal, ear wax removal, incision and drainage procedures, and wound care.
- Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, and assist in provision of continuity of care.
- Instruct and counsel patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens.
- No first assist in the Operating Room, however, will assist physicians with in-office procedures.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Will provide care to children including newborns to adolescents.
**General clinic office hours: 8am to 5pm, however, must be flexible to work up to 8pm
**Must be available to participate in grand rounds, tumor boards and other educational activities
**Travel to Marina Del Rey and Tarzana satellite locations to care for patients is required
Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
- Master's Degree Graduate from AMA accredited program required
- Bachelor’s Degree required
License/Certification/Registration Requirements:
- Certification by the National Commission of Physician Assistants
- CA PA Licensure by the State of California
- DEA License
- BLS from the American Heart Association
Experience:
- Must have current or past ENT experience to be successful in this role.
- Must be flexible and have the ability to shift/change as needed to meet the demands of the role.
- Physician Assistant experience in a relevant clinical area, e.g., family practice, pediatrics, internal medicine, urgent care, emergency medicine, allergy, pulmonology preferred.
