What will you be doing in this role?

Days/Hours: Weekdays, 2-4 shifts a month is highly desired.

As a per diem Lifestyle Medicine Occupational Therapist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles California, you will work with our cancer survivorship and weight loss program.

The per diem Occupational Therapist in our acute therapy will assist in evaluating and treats patients in accordance with the prescription of the physician. Provides patient care consistent with Scope of Practice Standards and Code of Ethics. Provides care while maintaining safety of the environment, utilizing appropriate communication with sensitivity and attention to special populations, including patients with diverse cultural backgrounds, age, developmental issues and physical disabilities

The Therapist-Per Diem is considered employed on an at-will basis with no guarantee of scheduled hours. Scheduling is done based on staffing need and availability. The Therapist-Per Diem staff member is expected to be available a minimum of 16 hours per month.


Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program is required.
  • Master's Degree Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program is preferred.
  • Doctorate Degree Completion of formal occupational therapy education is preferred.

License required:

  • Valid and current license as an OT in the state of California
  • Valid and current CPR certification: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)

Experience required:

  • Experience in Lifestyle Medicine approach to the OT interventions with cancer and wellness population.

Physical demands:

  • Able to push, pull, lift up to 100 lbs on an intermittent basis; able to bend,stoop, sit, stand and walk without restrictions.
