Each year, almost 500,000 inpatient and outpatient exams and procedures are performed and interpreted at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Our radiologists & imaging specialists are board certified by the American Board of Radiology in their respective subspecialties. Our subspecialized imaging physicians, American College of Radiology certified technologists and customer-service oriented staff provide our patients with brand-new imaging technologies and innovative treatment options in a compassionate environment.
As an MRI Technologist III, you will perform all scans at an advanced level to include all advanced MRI protocols relative to a specific patient population. The Tech III may assist physicians in performing procedures to include device preparation, medication handling and other duties as directed by the supervising physician. As needed, you will assume responsibility and accountability for patient flow by serving as Technologist in Charge or in the capacity of Team Leader.

Summary of Essential Duties:
- Performs MRI exams using approved procedures and protocols per standards of practice for speed, organization, precision and accuracy based upon the department’s accrediting agency and/or department guidelines for exam protocols, adhering to department productivity standards.
- Previews all MR images and monitors for accuracy and prepares/sends images to designated viewing systems. Performs section specific imaging QC using established technical factors and image identification.
- May assist physicians performing procedures and ensures all supplies and/or devices are prepared and available in accordance with sterile technique and infection control policies and practices. Adheres to all sterilization protocols.
- Performs venipuncture. Prepares and administers MRI medications to include imaging and adjunctive medications and follows hospital guidelines in handling of medications to align with all medication safety requirements.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Graduate of a JRCERT accredited radiologic program required
License/Certifications:
- BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
- ARRT (R) (MR) required
- CRT preferred
- Venipuncture certification required
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience performing a variety of MRI scans in a busy clinical environment required,
- At least 3 years of experience performing MRI scans at Cedars Sinai preferred
Physical Demands:
- Lifting, standing, walking, transporting patients
- Ability to work in ACR ZONE IV environment required
