The Blood and Marrow Program was established in 1989 and has since performed more than 1,500 bone marrow transplants, including autologous, allogeneic related and CAR-T Therapy. The program has been a National Marrow Donor Program/Be The Match transplant center since 2001, and is authorized to treat patients with all commercially available CAR-T cell products.

The program is one of only two in the country offering bloodless bone marrow transplant to Jehovah's Witnesses with lymphoma, multiple myeloma and other blood cancers. Cedars-Sinai Blood and Marrow Transplant program ranks in the Top 10 in the U.S. for patient survival. The program’s one-year allogeneic transplant survival results are higher than the expected rate, with superior outcomes

What will you be doing:

Under the leadership of the Director the Lead of the Nurse Practitioner is responsible for the daily twenty-four (24) hours operation. The Lead shall provide leadership, direction and supervision to Nurse Practitioners within a service-line and deliver direct patient care under the supervision of the directing physician(s). In the leadership role, the Nurse Practitioner Lead functions as a leader and an expert professional practitioner, and assumes responsibility and accountability for the expert applications of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care. The Lead consistently demonstrates professional skills and abilities, utilizes knowledge base and exemplary leadership and educational skills to direct and supervise the clinical performance of others, demonstrates motivation and creativity, and serves a catalyst for effective change at all levels. The Lead is responsible for implementing and maintaining AHP requirements both programmatic and competency specific for all assigned AHP programs. The Nurse Practitioner Lead will demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge regarding the process of AHP program development, credentialing, privileging and peer review requirements.


Qualifications

Education:

  • Master of Nursing Degree.
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse practitioner program approved by the California Board of Registered.

Experience:

  • Five (5) plus years' experience as a Nurse Practitioner in the relevant specialty area.
  • Proven experience as a Nurse Practitioner (inpatient/outpatient) in BMT.

Licensure/Certifications:

  • Current CA RN License.
  • Nurse Practitioner and Furnishing License.
  • National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current DEA License (2-5).
  • Current ACLS required.
  • Oncology Certified Nurse highly preferred.
