Job Description

What will you be doing:

The Lead Nurse Practitioner is responsible for the daily twenty-four (24) hours operation. The Lead shall provide leadership, direction, and supervision to Nurse Practitioners within a service-line and provide specialty collaborative patient management under the direction of a board certified/eligible physician. In the leadership role, the Nurse Practitioner Lead functions as a leader and an expert professional practitioner and assumes responsibility and accountability for the expert applications of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care. The Lead consistently demonstrates professional skills and abilities, utilizes knowledge base and outstanding leadership and educational skills to advise and supervise the clinical performance of others, demonstrates motivation and creativity, and serves a catalyst for effective change at all levels.

Responsible for implementing and maintaining AHP requirements both programmatic and competency specific for all assigned AHP programs.

Demonstrate an extensive knowledge regarding the process of AHP program development, credentialing, privileging and peer review requirements.

Supervises and responsible for promoting maximum growth and development of staff supervised, supports research, participates in strategic planning, both long and short term and assures patient advocacy.


Qualifications

Experience Requirements:

Five (5) years acute care or ambulatory Nurse Practitioner.

Two (2) years Nurse Practitioner experience in a related applicable specialty.

Educational/Licensure/Certifications Requirements:

Master of Nursing Degree.

Graduate of an accredited Nurse practitioner program approved by the California Board of Registered.

Current State of California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License (eligible to obtain).

National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner.

Current DEA license and Furnishing Number.

Current ACLS Certification.
