The Cedars-Sinai Biomanufacturing Center (CBC) is a state-of-the art facility that comprises of a cGMP cell manufacturing facility housing multiple cleanroom cell production suites and process development rooms for producing the next generation of cell and gene therapies. With world class expertise in stem cell (iPSC) biology, bioprocessing, translational, regulatory and manufacturing, Cedars-Sinai is committed to pushing the frontiers of medicine and discovering new technologies and innovations that will impact how we diagnose and treat disease.

The Materials Handler is responsible for all daily material handling for production, and warehouse activities while strictly adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Environmental Health & Safety guidelines, and other regulations that apply. Handles receipt and distribution of all goods and services. Performs physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, storing, distributing of materials, supplies and equipment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains and stages orders accordingly to carrier location and verify; number of pallets picked as well as stage location.
- Maintains inventory and assists with investigating any variances.
- Prepares and ships items using the appropriate shipping method, select appropriate shipping container, pack items for safe delivery.
- Supports manufacturing and labs with issuing, kitting, and waste flow within the CBC facility.
- Receives and inspects incoming shipments of non-GMP/GMP materials and equipment following established procedures.
- Uses the electronic inventory system to support manage/release GMP materials for production.
- Completes daily inventory transactions.
- Prepares and delivers raw materials, samples, finished product, etc. to various departments as needed ensuring proper procedure and temperature range are followed.
- Keeps warehouse operation clean and inspection ready at all times.
- Assists with keeping department supplies inventoried and ordered to avoid stock-out.
Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED required.
Experience and Skillset:
- 0 - 2 years of experience required.
- Ability to convey and/or receive written/verbal information to/from various audiences in different formats.
- Ability to provide and/or support a level of work excellence and accuracy; recognize and address flaws or errors that others may overlook.
- Ability to demonstrate time management and priority setting skills.
- Ability to interpret and apply knowledge of State, Federal and Agency standards to align with regulations.
- Ability to work within tight timeframes and meet deadlines.
- Ability to use software applications and operate technological devices (e.g., computer, laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.).
- Ability to operate mechanical/medical devices and/or equipment.
