If you aspire to become an RN Intern in the Emergency Department, we have three (3) Night shift openings available for our Winter Internship Program beginning December 8, 2024. Strong preference will be given to Cedars-Sinai employees. The Internship Program is 12 weeks and involves classroom and hands-on training with a preceptor during the Day, Mid, and Night shifts. Once completed, the RN will be able to function independently on the Night shift.
Unit Details:
Our Emergency Department (ED) has 20 patient beds and sees on average 120 people a day. There are Registered Nurses, Break RNs, Charge Nurses, Physicians, Physicians Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners on this cohesive multidisciplinary team. Our emergency medicine specialists are dedicated to providing comprehensive, leading-edge emergency care to a diverse population. ED nurses are calm in chaos, quick thinkers and fast learners. The specialty is challenging, fast-paced, exciting and rewarding.

Position Summary:
As a Registered Nurse, you are responsible and accountable for delivering direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Room (ER) setting. You will also:
· Provides direct and indirect patient care services, including the administration of medications and therapeutic agents necessary to implement treatment, disease prevention, or rehabilitative plan of care.
· Determine priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the hospital system
· Displays knowledge and is able to identify and make special adjustments to the specific populations needs, including cultural, spiritual, age, psychosocial, communication, gender, sexual orientation, economic, education, family and condition needs.
· Respond quickly, and with accuracy to changes in condition or response to treatment.

- Tuition Reimbursement: Repays up to $600 per calendar year for fees expended to attend a job-related seminar, licensure renewal (if mandated by job description), workshop, conference, individual course, or other training programs.

Educational Requirements:
·Graduate of accredited nursing program. BSN strongly preferred
License/Certifications:
·Valid California Registered Nurse License
·BLS required through American Heart Association
·ACLS required through American Heart Association
·PALS through AHA for Emergency Department (ED) Interns within 90 days
·LA County Fire Card
·Approved assaultive behavior training
·TNCC preferred
Experience:
·1 year Medical-Surgical, Pediatrics or Telemetry unit experience or Completion of CSMH RN New Grad nurse residency program required
·Some critical care experience preferred
·Experience with Shared Governance and or Magnet committees a plus
·Demonstrated dedication to customer service and ability to meet the needs and expectations of patients and health care colleagues
