Job Summary:
The Radiologic Technologist II is a competent imaging professional who performs a broad range of routine and moderately complex diagnostic radiographic procedures at a technical level enough to provide adequate diagnosis with limited supervision. This position performs a variety of diagnostic radiography imaging procedures to provide data for diagnosis and monitoring diseases and injuries in accordance with all applicable standards, regulations, and licensing requirements. Assists physicians and radiologists in performing Radiological Procedures on patient populations ranging from neonatal to geriatric. Following and maintains quality control procedures for Imaging Services. May serve as a preceptor and cover multiple locations/departments including the Spine Center.
In addition to providing direct patient care, the Radiologic Technologist II prioritizes daily workflow, participates in quality improvement initiatives, and contributes to departmental performance, patient satisfaction, and operational excellence.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform routine and moderately complex diagnostic radiographic examinations in accordance with physician orders, departmental protocols, and established standards of practice.
• Evaluate patient history, clinical indications, and imaging requests to determine appropriate positioning techniques and examination priorities.
• Produce consistently high-quality diagnostic images while applying ALARA principles and appropriate radiation protection measures for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Operates fixed and portable radiographic equipment, including mobile radiography and C-arm fluoroscopy systems, in inpatient, outpatient, emergency, trauma, surgical, and critical care environments.
• Perform and assists physicians and radiologists with intermediate fluoroscopic, surgical, and image-guided procedures and anticipating procedural needs on patients ranging in age from pediatric to geriatric. Will rotate to provide coverage for the Spine Center.
• Monitor patients condition during imaging procedures and promptly reports changes or concerns to the appropriate licensed healthcare provider.
• Verify patient identity, procedure accuracy, informed consent requirements when applicable, and imaging orders in accordance with hospital patient safety policies.
• Accurately document patient information, imaging procedures, radiation dose data, procedural notes, equipment usage, and examination results within the electronic medical record (EMR), Radiology Information System (RIS), and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
• Troubleshoot routine equipment issues, perform operational quality control checks, clean, inspect, stock, and maintain imaging rooms, equipment, and supplies to support efficient department operations and infection prevention standards and promptly report equipment malfunctions to leadership and Biomedical Engineering.
• Prioritize daily workflow by prioritizing examinations based on patient acuity, physician requests, departmental turnaround time expectations, and operational priorities.
• May serve as a clinical preceptor by mentoring newly hired technologists, students, and department staff while reinforcing established imaging protocols and patient safety practices

Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's in Science Degree, Radiological Technology preferred
- Minimum of an Associate's in Science Degree, Radiological Technology
License/Certifications Requirements:
- BLS through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
- Certified by the State of California to practice and administer radiation - Registered Radiologic Technologist CRT
- Certified by the State of California to practice and administer – Fluoroscopy
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT certification
Experience:
- Preferred 3 Three or more years of acute-care hospital imaging experience.
- Preferred 1 yr Experience working in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center.
- Preferred 1 yr Cross-training in additional imaging modalities (CT, MRI, Mammography, or Interventional Radiology).
Preferred 1 yr Experience serving as a clinical instructor or departmental preceptor.
- Minimum 2 years Diagnostic Radiology experience in an acute-care hospital or comparable healthcare environment.
- Minimum 1 year Demonstrated competency in portable radiography, trauma imaging, and fluoroscopic support procedures.
- Minimum 3 years Radiologic technologist experience in a clinical setting

We offer a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base pay range shown generally applies to the greater Los Angeles area and may vary based on work location. Our range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including knowledge/skills: relevant experience and training, education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors.
