Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of basic imaging procedures and is responsible for patients’ safety protocols. Functions as the first line interface with customer in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs and participates in CQI activities.
· Responsible for safe handling of equipment and films.
· Able to assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure; makes appropriate physician contact for intervention.
· Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
· Programs portable or stationary x-ray machines and makes radiograms for a variety of examinations.
· Processes x-ray film as needed.
· Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures.
· Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient, including pediatric, geriatric and general population.
·Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (required).
·Certified by the State of California to practice and administer radiation (required).
·Current BLS certification (required).
·Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing (required).
·One (1) year of experience under a Board-Certified Radiologist (preferred).
·Knowledge of anatomy and physiology (required).
·Basic computer knowledge (required).
