What you’ll de doing in this role:
The Pharmacist is licensed by the California State Board of Pharmacy. Under the general supervision of the Director of Pharmacy and/or the Senior Pharmacist(s), the Pharmacist is responsible for the daily organization and supervision of all drug distribution activities in the hospital, including involvement in clinical endeavors. Reviews and validates medication orders for safe medication use. Acts as a drug information resource to patients, medical staff, nursing staff, and ancillary department personnel. Compounds and dispenses prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals for patient care by performing related duties.
- Current Pharmacist licensure in the State of California (required)
- One (1) year of Pharmacy experience (if possible institutional) or the completion of a residency in institutional pharmacy practice or a Pharm D degree (required).
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing (required).
- Basic computer knowledge (preferred).
- Automated pharmacy systems: electronic order entry, barcoding, automated medication dispensing point of care medication administration, barcoding, electronic documentation (preferred).
- Aseptic technique and use of the IV Laminar Flow Hood (preferred).
Hours: variable morning, evening or night shifts.
