 The Marina Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a nursing student who are enrolled in an accredited Nursing Program to work as Nursing Assistant in our Med Surg/Tele unit. This opportunity will give you hands on experience and will give you early access to be considered for our Nurse Residency Program after graduation.  In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living such as feeding, toileting and hygiene
  • Take vital signs
  • Provide basic nursing care to non-acutely and acutely ill patients
  • Assist in maintenance of a safe and clean environment
  • Work under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse in charge of the team and/or unit
  • Answer phones and call lights
  • Ensure unit is stocked with supplies
  • Assist patient transporter as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Shift: Night Shift, 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. 


Experience:

  • Enrolled in an accredited Nursing program (Associate's, Bachelor's or Master's) and in good standing 
  • Must have successfully completed the first semester of a nursing program
  • Must upload a copy of your most recent, unofficial transcripts
  • Must have 12 months left in Nursing Program

Certifications:

  • Current BCLS certification from AHA or ARC (required)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English 
  • Basic computer knowledge
