CLS II - Clinical Laboratory Scientist - Full Time - Day Shift - Marina Hospital
Job Description
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist II (CLS II) is responsible for performing waived, moderate, and high-complexity laboratory testing, as defined by Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), across one or more sections of the clinical laboratory for patients of all ages. This role ensures that all laboratory procedures are performed accurately, independently, and in a timely manner, adhering strictly to established policies and procedures to maintain 100% compliance with Quality Control protocols for control testing and result validation. The CLS II also performs instrument maintenance, manages inventory, provides training to new staff as needed, addresses operational issues and complaints, and communicates effectively with physicians, colleagues, and laboratory leadership. Additionally, the CLS II contributes to the implementation of new procedures and participates in the evaluation and integration of new laboratory instruments.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's Degree in a biological science, chemistry, medical technology, or related science (minimum).
- Master's Degree Master's Degree in a biological science, chemistry, medical technology, or related science (preferred).
Experience:
- Two (2) years of relevant clinical experience (required).
Licenses and Certifications:
- Current CLS licensure in the State of California (required).
- American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB) Board of Registry certification or equivalent (preferred).

Our compensation philosophy
We offer a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base pay range shown generally applies to the greater Los Angeles area and may vary based on work location. Our range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including knowledge/skills: relevant experience and training, education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors.
