The Central Service Technician at Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital is a pivotal role responsible for the decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies and equipment. Following established infection control practices, our technicians ensure that all instruments are prepared flawlessly to support patient care. Responsibilities
- Decontamination and Sterilization: Coordinate the processing of all contaminated instruments and supplies using Plasma or steam sterilization.
- Sterilization Packaging: Apply knowledge of sterilization principles to accurately wrap and package items.
- Clerical Support: Assist with processing department supply charges and other clerical tasks.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Central Lead Technician and assist with the orientation of new personnel.
- Aseptic Techniques: Apply aseptic techniques in daily work assignments.
- Department Maintenance: Perform general cleaning of department surface areas, racks, shelves, storage cabinets, and storage areas.
- Patient Safety: Ensure all aspects of patient care are optimized to reduce medical/health care errors.
- Tray Preparation: Handle and care for instruments, prepare trays, and monitor sterility dates on supplies.
- Maintenance Procedures: Maintain preventive maintenance and control procedures on electrical heating and cooling units.
- Supply Management: Receive, deliver, and fill requisition requests, restock patient care unit supply carts, and reconcile charges.
- Stock Monitoring: Assist with monitoring and maintaining stock in the storeroom, and maintain rental equipment logs.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support the department's needs.
Shift: 2:00PM - 10:30PM
Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma/GED, preferred
Experience:
One (1) year of experience as a Central Service Technician, preferred

Our compensation philosophy
We offer a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base pay range shown generally applies to the greater Los Angeles area and may vary based on work location. Our range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including knowledge/skills: relevant experience and training, education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors.
