Bariatric Nutrition Coordinator - Full time - Marina Hospital

We are excited to offer an outstanding opportunity for an exceptionally dedicated professional to join our team as a Bariatric Nutrition Coordinator. This role is integral to our mission of delivering flawless nutritional care to our bariatric patients. You will have the chance to work with a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic and encouraging environment, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

In the role of Bariatric Nutrition Coordinator, you will:

  • Plan and provide nutritional care to bariatric patients, both before and after surgery.
  • Perform comprehensive pre and postoperative assessments.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary team members to ensure safe and accurate delivery of care.
  • Provide individual and group nutritional education classes, focusing on pre-operative and postoperative diet progression and vitamin supplementation.
  • Serve as a resource for research-based bariatric nutrition recommendations to the bariatric team.
  • Coordinate the program website and social media blog to provide nutritional guidelines for bariatric patients.
  • Participate in monthly support groups and team meetings.
  • Apply independent clinical judgment under the supervision of leadership.

Qualifications

Education:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or Health Sciences, or equivalent experience, is required.
  • A Master's Degree in Nutrition or Health Sciences, or relevant equivalent experience, is preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of prior experience in weight management as a Registered Dietitian in a healthcare setting - preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Registered Dietitian - required.
  • Weight Management Certification  - required within 90 days.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - required within 30 days.
  • Membership in the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery - preferred.

We offer a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base pay range shown generally applies to the greater Los Angeles area and may vary based on work location. Our range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including knowledge/skills: relevant experience and training, education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors.
