Radiation Therapy Director, Clinical Operations - #1 Hospital in CA
Job Description
The Director, Clinical Operations for Radiation Oncology will be responsible for the overall management and leadership in the delivery of comprehensive, high-quality services within the assigned area. The Director is responsible for clinical operations at Main Campus and Tarzana Radiation Oncology Clinics, academic operations for the Department of Radiation Oncology, and Radiation Oncology laboratories. The Director, in close collaboration with other executive leadership, shall lead strategic planning and implementation, budget / financial planning, patient access, revenue cycle and performance improvement initiatives. This role is responsible for standardization, integration and alignment of all Radiation Oncology sites include Main Campus, Tarzana and Huntington Hospital. Oversees daily lab operations as well as clinical processes and procedures across the assigned multiple outpatient sites. Builds organizational strength by mentoring the management team and staff by guiding them through overall processes and procedures, including performance management. Oversees clinical staff education, growth, and development, and evaluates new models of care and the establishment of new specialties, procedures and practice sites. Ensures clear communication to leadership and key stake holders across the Cedars Sinai and affiliates.
- Develops and Leads strategies to operationalize and deliver moderate to significant improvements to processes, policies, systems, or products to enhance performance in support of the department strategy.
- Oversees and continuously improves the process and technology related to departmental programs
- Develops policies and procedures and implement performance improvement initiatives and set up data collection processes and reporting systems as necessary to ensure quality care and monitoring of quality metrics in collaboration with physicians, staff and related departments.
- Collaborates with physicians and clinical and other directors to ensure the effective coordination of services within and between departmental units.
- Manages and oversees the effective allocation of capital and human resources within the department, engages finance to ensure adequate financial performance, effective expense reduction, utilization management, budget control and new revenue generation.
- Collaborates with multi-disciplinary departments, internal business partners and executive leadership on expansion/construction projects and Technology and Information Systems.
- Collaborates with department physicians on billing discrepancies, documentation standards, process improvement, supply chain management, and vendor/industry new technology.
- Provides leadership and collaboration with other sites to improve continuum of care, standard departmental practice and purchasing value.
- Provides leadership and direction to a mid to large size team within the department/unit/service line. Directs, mentors and leads department management personnel, supervisors and leads. Develops and implements department patient satisfaction initiatives.
- Ensures compliance with state and federal laws, professional and regulatory agency standards and licensure requirements. Maintains clinical staff compliance with organizational policies, procedures and protocols.
- Collaborates and leads departmental partnerships with other departments.
- Collaborates with the Research Department to ensure the delivery of high quality and fiscally responsible groundbreaking research procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, Science in Nursing, and/or related.) - minimum requirement; master's degree preferred
Experience:
Minimum 8 years - Progressively responsible clinical operations experience with at least five years of management experience, and minimum 5 years Supervisory/Management experience and overseeing departments/service lines in a healthcare setting.
