Requisition # 122927

A faculty position in osteoimmunology is available in the Department of Orthopaedics and the Kao Autoimmunity Institute (KAI) of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (CSMC). The recruit can also be considered for secondary appointments in the Division of Rheumatology and/or the Department of Biomedical Sciences, both of which host many outstanding inflammation and immunology laboratories, as well as in the recently established and rapidly growing Department of Computational Medicine.

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in translational science and seek to address key questions relevant to a range of musculoskeletal diseases, with a particular focus on immunological mechanisms that play a role in mediating bone pathology in infectious and inflammatory diseases. Candidates from all areas of immunology with approaches ranging from computational to experimental will be considered. The Institute strongly encourages applications from candidates interested in spatial immunology and tissue microenvironment studies.

The CMSC Department of Orthopaedics is ranked #2 in the nation and #1 in California by US News and World Report, and has strong clinical science as well translational stem-cell focused programs in partnership with the CSMC Regenerative Medicine Institute (RMI). KAI occupies a new laboratory building located in Beverly Hills, CA. In addition to competitive space, KAI provides its members with access to a wide range of well-maintained, shared equipment, an Institute-based specimen-processing core, and a dedicated flow core. Our goal is to help KAI members focus on the science rather than bureaucracy, and enhance their access to high-quality clinical cohorts as well as expertise in clinical musculoskeletal science. Collaborations with RMI will be especially supported.
