Job Description


Inpatient Specialty Practices (ISP) at Cedars-Sinai is seeking talented physicians to join our hospitalist group as nocturnists. ISP’s team includes over 80 hospitalists, in addition to advance practice providers (APPs).

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, with its 900+ bed acute inpatient facility and over 40,000 admissions annually, is one of the largest non-profit academic medical centers in the country. Our hospitalist group, established in 2006, has since grown exponentially, caring for almost 30% of the inpatient, adult, medical/surgical patient population at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. We also provide hospitalist services at other sites across the health system, including Cedars-Sinai Marina Hospital and Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center. Our group works closely with Cedars-Sinai specialists and have a number of specialized rotations to provide medicine services, alongside our specialist colleagues.

This nocturnist role involves working approximately 168 (14/month) 8-hour shifts per year, with fewer shifts if longer hours are incorporated.

Proven excellence in patient care and administration. Strong communication skills. Team-oriented mindset to ensure optimal patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide hospital-based inpatient internal medicine services, adhering to best practices, evidence-based medicine, and appropriate resource utilization. Evaluate patients in the Emergency Department in a timely manner and collaborate with ED physicians to reduce unnecessary admissions. Work closely with physician colleagues and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) Engage in regular communication with referring primary care providers and consultants regarding each inpatient's plan of care, including notification to all relevant physicians upon admission, discharge, or change in clinical status. Ensure timely documentation of all patient encounters.

Our compensation philosophy
We offer a competitive total compensation and benefits package to our physicians. The total pay range shown takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range includes incentive payments that may be applicable to this role.

Pay Range: $288,723 - $367,849 Total Cash Compensation.

Qualifications

Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine. Unrestricted California license.
