The Cedars‑Sinai Share & Care program provides services to at‑risk children and adolescents. The program started in 1981 as the Psychological Trauma Center, and our professional counselors provide services to students who are experiencing emotional and academic challenges due to traumatic situations and stressors. Share & Care provides a group structure to facilitate emotional nurturing, healthy self‑esteem and positive coping skills through a 12‑week art therapy curriculum that can result in academic success.

What will you be doing:

Seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Clinician to support high school students who are pregnant and may be at risk of school failure due to social, behavioral, and emotional problems utilizing evidence based and/or evidence informed practices within a high school setting. The counselor will provide individual, group and family support through psychoeducation on topics that include mental health, trauma awareness, social skills, conflict mediation, grief, drug prevention, postpartum and other socio-emotional issues that impact learning. Counselor will also provide community referrals, linkages, and collaborations with District and community resources to address student and family needs.

  • School-Based program working with pregnant teens.
  • Provide psychotherapy to individuals and groups.
  • Knowledgeable on reporting requirements for Elder Abuse and Child Abuse.
  • Document interventions according to regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Keep all documentation current and complete for all patients in caseload.
  • 2 days per week from 9:30am – 1:30pm.
  • 1 location: Downtown Los Angeles

Qualifications

Educational/License Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), or Marriage and Family Therapy
  • Licensed in LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) and/or LMFT (Marriage and Family Therapist) 

Experience Requirements:

  • Two (2) plus years of post-licensure experience provided to individual and group therapy, preferably in a school-based setting.
  • Bilingual Spanish and English speaking therapist preferred.
  • Experience in clinical supervision and training.
