What will you be doing:
Seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Clinician to support high school students who are pregnant and may be at risk of school failure due to social, behavioral, and emotional problems utilizing evidence based and/or evidence informed practices within a high school setting. The counselor will provide individual, group and family support through psychoeducation on topics that include mental health, trauma awareness, social skills, conflict mediation, grief, drug prevention, postpartum and other socio-emotional issues that impact learning. Counselor will also provide community referrals, linkages, and collaborations with District and community resources to address student and family needs.
- School-Based program working with pregnant teens.
- Provide psychotherapy to individuals and groups.
- Knowledgeable on reporting requirements for Elder Abuse and Child Abuse.
- Document interventions according to regulatory requirements and standards.
- Keep all documentation current and complete for all patients in caseload.
- 2 days per week from 9:30am – 1:30pm.
- 2 locations: San Fernando Valley and Central LA.
Qualifications
Experience Requirements:
Two (2) plus years of post-licensure experience doing psychotherapy, preferably in a school-based setting.
Bilingual Spanish and English speaking therapist preferred.
Experience in clinical supervision and training.
Educational/License Requirements:
Master’s degree in Psychology or Social Work (MSW), or related field from an accredited University.
Licensed MFT (Marriage and Family Therapist) and/or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
