Manager, Strategic Planning & Business Development (Cedars-Sinai Medical Center; Los Angeles, CA): Lead the day-to-day development, facilitation, and presentation of comprehensive strategy and business plans for Cedars-Sinai Health System stakeholders to guide enterprise decisions. Facilitate cross-functional planning teams, including Health System leadership, clinical departments, and the Medical Network. Develop sophisticated business plans by identifying, retrieving, and analyzing data, developing models and assumptions to support decisions and recommendations on strategic and business opportunities of large scope and impact to the organization. Utilize quantitative and qualitative data from internal and external sources to inform planning initiatives. Create and design new strategic and business analysis approaches. Conduct comprehensive market assessments, including demand forecasts, competitor analyses, and risk assessments, and key market trends affecting the Health System's positioning and growth opportunities. Support transaction work by assessing potential physician group and hospital affiliations and partnerships, and other new venture opportunities, including conducting due diligence and developing recommendations to inform transaction decisions. Collaborate with Health System staff and leadership to transform business plans into actionable implementation plans. Support monitoring of implemented strategies and reviews performance against established targets. Collaborate with operational leadership to evaluate operational requirements for Health System growth initiatives, including program development, new services, and technology implementations. Include facility planning, staffing requirements, capital needs, and capacity analyses. Develop detailed financial analyses, including income statements, cash flow analysis, and balance sheets. Develop economic valuations using standard acceptable methodologies to inform strategic decision-making. Deliver consulting and project management support for Health System leadership, clinical departments, and the Medical Network. Lead project teams and coordinate cross-functional working groups. Manage Strategy staff on assigned projects, and provide project assignment, scope definition, review, and feedback on deliverables to ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency across initiatives. Function as a cross-functional leader/member of regional operations teams, providing guidance and expertise on business development, reviewing business assessments, and overseeing associate/analyst

activities. May supervise 1-2 associates in the future. Telecommuting permitted pursuant to company policy.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Economics, Healthcare Administration, Statistics, or related field, plus five (5) years of experience as a Strategy Associate, Business Development, Strategy Consultant, or related occupation.

Alternate Education and Experience: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Economics, Healthcare Administration, Statistics, or related field, plus three (3) years of experience as a Strategy Associate, Business Development, Strategy Consultant, or related occupation.

Must have experience with the following: conducting research, analyzing and interpreting complex data sets, and applying critical thinking to derive key insights, demonstrate problem solving, and develop proposed strategic recommendations in response to important organizational and strategic questions; defining and preparing comprehensive market and trend assessments/analyses that include demand forecasts, competitor analyses, risk assessments, and the research, monitoring, evaluation of key market trends; creating and designing new strategic and business analysis approaches; leading the development of complex business plans by identifying, retrieving, and analyzing data, and developing models and assumptions to support decisions and recommendations on strategic and business opportunities of large scope and impact to the organization; utilizing quantitative and qualitative data from internal and external sources to inform the business plans; developing detailed financial analyses, including income statements, cash flow analysis, and balance sheets; facilitating and presenting project deliverables, including strategy and business plans, guiding strategic and business decisions, and achieving consensus and actionable outcomes, including leading or facilitating cross-functional project groups (Health System leadership, clinical departments, and the Medical Network); management of projects and workstreams, including development of project work plans and managing 2-4 initiatives at any given time; overseeing specific staff on project-related basis, including the provision of project assignment, scope, review and feedback on deliverables to ensure accuracy, quality and consistency; leading cross-functional work teams, including working with Health System staff and leadership to convert strategy and business plans into implementation plans; leading evaluation of operational needs for Health System growth initiates (program development, new services, and technology) in collaboration with operations leadership, including facility planning, staffing requirements, capital needs, and capacity analyses; hospital, clinic, or medical group operations, and local healthcare market dynamics (competitor analysis, demand assessment, and payer trend).

Salary: $135,096 – $235,539 per year

We offer a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base pay range shown generally applies to the greater Los Angeles area and may vary based on work location.
