What will I be doing in this role?
The Major Gifts Officer will serve as a field officer for Cedars-Sinai with frontline responsibility for qualifying, cultivating, and stewarding current and prospective donors and partners to maintain and expand financial support of Cedars-Sinai. The Major Gifts Officer will work with an assigned portfolio of donors, prospects, and selected leaders and/or faculty to advance the mission of the organization.
Department-Specific Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the identification, solicitation, cultivation and stewardship of major gift level donors and donor prospects, to include individuals, business entities, corporations, and foundations for the support of Cedars-Sinai.
- Makes annual solicitation projections and works throughout the year to achieve projections including generating written gift solicitation proposals as appropriate to prospective high net worth.
- Develops stewardship plans to acknowledge major donors. Track and report progress using specific metrics.
- Creates and implements moves management plans and top donors strategies.
- Ensures standard processes in donor stewardship activities including appropriate individual and organizational donor recognition and stewardship.
- Participates in departmental and organizational activities and events and act as good will ambassador in the community for Cedars-Sinai.
- Meets communicated monthly goal of significant actions or donor contact.
- Develops lifetime relationships with high-capacity donors leading to closing and stewarding high impact gifts for the benefit of Cedars-Sinai by working with medical staff, volunteers, and other members of the community.
- Collaborates to problem solve and make decisions to achieve desired outcomes.
- Cultivates and maintains strong customer relationships and rapport with partners and/or business groups.
- Establishes effective working relationships with cross-functional team(s).
- Represents the company with external constituents.
- Responds timely, effectively, and appropriately to deliverables.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Healthcare Administration or a related field is required.
- Three (3) years of Fundraising or related experience. Demonstrated success in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding at major gift levels is required.
- Three (3) Professional work experience with a proven track record of accomplishments and taking initiative is required.
- Travel Requirement is 20% within assigned geographic territory.
- Valid Driver’s License is required. Ability to travel when needed.
Experience/Skills we are seeking:
- Excellent computer skills, experience with database management (RE7), Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PP and Outlook).
