Job Summary

The Manager, Clinical Operations, Transplant ensures daily operations supporting the development of the clinical affairs infrastructure
and programs for patient safety and quality care. The Manager assumes fiscal responsibility through preparation of unit
budgets, serves as liaison with medical staff and other personnel, promotes the maximum growth and development of each

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with state and federal laws, accreditation, professional and regulatory agency standards and licensure
    requirements. Maintains staff compliance with medical center policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Assumes fiscal responsibility for the unit including unit budget preparation, labor and supply cost management, and
    revenue enhancement.
  • Develops business and operations plans for unit and specific programs and services within it.
  • Establishes patient assessment process and treatment care plans for patient population.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services.
  • Supervises the delivery of patient care and ensures optimal levels and continuous improvement of clinical and service
    quality within the unit for all service line customers. Maintains appropriate quality control programs.
  • Supervises unit employees, including responsibility for determining qualifications, hiring, maintaining and improving
    competence, assigning work, coaching, training (e.g., orientation, in-service and continuing education), evaluating
    performance, compensation, discipline and terminating employment.
  • Collaborates with other associate directors and clinical/support associate directors in cross-functional process
    improvement, collaborative teamwork, open communication and problem solving to ensure the effective coordination and
    integration of services within and between units.
  • Manages the effective utilization of human resources and supplies within the unit, including the development of
    appropriate staffing and management of productivity. Develops staffing plans in response to patient volume and activity.
    Recommends a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide care. Recommends space and other
    resources for needed services. Participates in selecting outside sources for needed services.
  • Maintains constructive collegial relations with service line, division, and clinical/support medical staff.

Qualifications

Education & Licensure

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing Required

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required

RN State License Preferred 

Experience

5 years of Management experience in a healthcare or hospital setting required
