The Smidt Heart Institute excels in cardiovascular care, uniting centers to treat all heart conditions. Are you a motivated and seasoned Nurse Practitioner seeking to progress in your profession? Cedars-Sinai, a top-tier healthcare institution, is in search of a proficient and committed Lead Nurse Practitioner (NP) to become a valuable member of our Cardiac Surgery team.

Responsible for daily twenty-four (24) hour operations, the Lead Nurse Practitioner leads, directs, and supervises Nurse Practitioners within a service-line. They provide specialty collaborative patient management under a board-certified/eligible physician's direction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take charge of guiding the Nurse Practitioners working in the Cardiac Surgery unit.
  • Offer cooperative patient care under the supervision of a board-certified/eligible physician.
  • Ensure the daily 24-hour operations of the service-line run seamlessly.
  • Implement and uphold AHP necessities for all designated AHP initiatives.
  • Show comprehensive expertise in AHP program development, credentialing, privileging, and peer review requirements.
  • Promote maximum growth and development of supervised staff.
  • Assist with research and contribute to long and short-term planning.
  • Ensure patient advocacy and outstanding care delivery.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a cardiac surgery or related healthcare setting.
  • Outstanding leadership, direction, and supervisory skills.
  • Skill in proficiently implementing and sustaining programmatic and competency-specific demands.
  • Profound understanding of AHP program development, credentialing, privileging, and peer review.
  • Strong motivation, creativity, and the ability to drive effective change.
  • Dedication to compassionate care and patient advocacy.
  • Experience in working under the direction and collaboration of board-certified/eligible physicians.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Master of Nursing Degree.
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse practitioner program approved by the California Board of Registered.

Experience:

  • Five (5) plus years’ experience as Nurse Practitioner with two years in Cardiac Surgery.

Educational/Licensure/Certifications:

  • Current CA RN License. 
  • Nurse Practitioner and Furnishing License.
  • National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current DEA License. 
  • Current ACLS required.
