Kao Autoimmunity Institute (KAI) Transplant Immunology - Research Faculty
Job Description
A faculty position in immunology at the assistant or associate professor level is available at Cedars-Sinai Health Sciences University. The recruit will have appointments in the Kao Autoimmunity Institute and the Comprehensive Transplant Center and will be considered for primary appointment in the Departments of Medicine or Surgery with secondary appointments in Biomedical Sciences, as well as in the recently established and rapidly growing Department of Computational Medicine.
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in translational and human immunology and seek to address key questions relevant to autoimmunity and transplantation. Candidates from all areas of immunology with approaches ranging from computational to experimental will be considered. Applications from candidates who have research programs focused on B cells and or complement biology will be strongly prioritized.
The candidate will be provided space within the Kao Autoimmunity Institute (KAI) which occupies a new laboratory building located in Beverly Hills, CA. In addition to competitive space, KAI provides its members with access to a wide range of well-maintained, shared equipment, an Institute-based specimen-processing core, and a dedicated flow core.
Cedars-Sinai Health Sciences University, the largest academic medical center on the west coast, is renowned for its generous investment in translational and clinical science, its collaborative and inclusive culture and the well-supported, state-of-the-art core facilities and technology hubs. Translational Immunology studies at Cedars-Sinai are facilitated by streamlined access to high-quality and well characterized clinical cohorts and specimens. The new hire will join a growing and vibrant immunology community at Cedars-Sinai, which currently includes >100 laboratories based in several well-integrated Institutes and Centers, with expertise and focus ranging from autoimmunity to transplant immunology, cancer immunology, and mucosal immunology. The new hire will be provided with a very competitive salary and startup package as well as access to graduate students from the rapidly expanding Cedars-Sinai Graduate School, which now includes a biomedical science PhD program with immunology track, a new MS program in Translational Immunology (TrIMS) and PhD and MS programs in Computational Sciences.
Our compensation philosophy:
We offer competitive total compensation that includes pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The base pay range shown considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors. This base pay range does not include our comprehensive benefits package and any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role.
Pay range: $119,000.00 - $260,000.00 Total Cash Compensation
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree (PhD and/or MD) or equivalent
- Excellent record of publications in reputable journals
Preferred Qualifications:
- A record of obtaining independent grant support
