Job Summary
The Executive Director is responsible for the management and operation of the clinical programs and services provided by the Cedars-Sinai Medical Network hematology oncology medical groups, including but not limited to The Angeles Clinic and the Marina Breast Center. In this capacity, the Executive Director is responsible for clinical practice operations, research operations, human resource management, fiscal accountability, productivity and regulatory compliance. This role will exhibit leadership, humanism and professionalism in the management of areas of responsibility.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities
•    Maintains knowledge and understanding of the trends and forces that shape the health care delivery system, the provision of care, and other emerging issues in health care.  Demonstrates flexibility and initiative to effectively lead change efforts to respond to environmental or organizational change.
•    Develops and manages capital and operating budgets; responsible for ongoing process improvement and efficiencies, including effective and innovative resource management, production standards and development of new revenue sources.
•    Develops business, provider and programmatic expansion and operational plans in collaboration with leadership.
•    Provides overall administrative leadership and operational and clinical management directors, manager, and supervisors. Responsible for operational and clinical excellence of oncology services and related programs. Manages clinic operations to meet staffing and productivity targets.
•    Provides departmental oversight of research, laboratory, imaging, infusion, pharmacy, nursing, and patient scheduling. Proven personnel management strength including demonstrated ability to select, motivate, develop and retain people and promote collaborative team efforts.
•    Oversees the implementation of new programs, initiatives, and policies that are consistent with maximizing revenue, reducing costs, and ensuring the highest quality of patient care and service.
•    Oversees the delivery of patient care and ensures optimal levels and continuous improvement of clinical and service quality. Ensures the appropriate staffing, equipment, and resources necessary for optimal patient care and experience. Effectively leads the design and organization of work, and allocation of resources to achieve appropriate staffing levels, mix and productivity levels.
•    . Creates an empowering work climate. Breeds collaborative teamwork and problem solving.  Broadly communicates values and expectations regarding quality.  Achieves measurable results in quality and provision of services in areas of responsibility.
•     Contributes to the development of strategic and operational plans, programs and policies.  Develops and implements measurable objectives consistent with the organization’s mission, goals and timetables.  Anticipates, is flexible and adjusts plans to meet changing conditions. Organizes work and develops ways to measure progress, evaluate results and take corrective action in a timely manner.  Demonstrates political and interpersonal acumen in making sound business decisions.  
•    Oversees research efforts in areas of responsibility and ensures compliance with internal policies and external regulatory agencies.
•    Works collaboratively with Quality Improvement, Population Health, Utilization Management, Risk Management and other medical network departments to maximize clinical performance, minimize risk, and assist the medical network in achieving its quality goals.


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Master's Degree preferred

Experience

  • 10 years progressive management responsibility in healthcare administration, including selection, development and retention of staff and promotion of collaborative teamwork required
  • 5 years    strong provider and staff relations experience required
