The Department of Cardiology, Smidt Heart Institute and Cedars-Sinai Cancer at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in collaboration with the Cedars Sinai Cancer Center has an exciting opportunity for a clinician-scientist to develop and lead a world-class cardio-oncology program as Director, Cardio-Oncology
The candidate should be an MD or MD/PhD with training and/or experience in cardiovascular disease and Cardio-Oncology. The successful candidate will have clinical, academic, and research responsibilities focused primarily on cardio-oncology. We are seeking an experienced clinician and scientist with expertise in Cardio-Oncology. The candidate must have certification from the international cardio-oncology society or at least 3 years dedicated experience in practicing cardio-oncology. Additional opportunities for clinical care in other subspecialties will be considered on an individual basis taking into consideration applicant expertise and divisional priorities. Selected candidates will also be expected to direct and develop a collaborative and extramurally funded research program in cardio-oncology. Research or scholarship responsibilities may include clinical, basic science, and/or translational research focused in cardio-oncology.

The Department of Cardiology is one of the largest departments within the Cedars-Sinai Health System with over 170 faculty and has world renowned programs in cardiovascular imaging, advanced heart disease, interventional cardiology, cardiac electrophysiology, women’s health, hypertension, and regenerative medicine.
At Cedars-Sinai Cancer, we offer state-of-the-art treatments, experimental therapies, next-generation research, and cutting-edge clinical trials for over sixty types of cancer at more than ten locations throughout Greater Los Angeles. There are over 200 clinical trials available to patients at any given time.
Cedars-Sinai treats cancer patients with a multi-disciplinary approach. Our rapidly expanding, vertically integrated health system is a central destination for the integration of revolutionary advances into daily clinical practice. The Cedars healthcare system saw over 7,600 new cancer cases, creating customized, coordinated care plans that fit each patient’s unique needs. The Cedars-Sinai Cancer faculty published over 250 publications, 23% in high-impact journals, and has over $35 million in grant funding. Similarly, faculty from the Smidt Heart Institute published over 510 publications, 17% of which were in high-impact journals, and has over $22 million in grant funding.

We offer competitive total compensation that includes pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. We also offer a comprehensive faculty benefits package.
Total Cash Compensation Range: $400,000 - $725,000
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited ACGME/AOA cardiology and subspecialty training in cardio-oncology.
- Board certified with the ABIM in cardiology
- Eligible for an unrestricted California license as Physician
- Ability to obtain and /or maintain DEA certification for the State of California.
- Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
- Eligible for appointment to Associate Professor or Professor academic rank in the CSMC
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional collaboration abilities with partners and staff.
- Proven knowledge and success in clinical skills. Candidates should be recognized for the provision of clinical excellence.
- The ideal candidate will have a track-record of peer-reviewed publications and a desire to continue academic work.
