Responsibilities

Responsible for the design and maintenance of database structure to store, manage and process information and data for assigned department / projects. Develops tools for data mining and analysis. Writes database applications; generates reports using standard statistical analysis software. Performs data collection and data maintenance for both internal and external users. Develops and maintains quality control systems required to ensure data quality, reliability and integrity. Responsible for the general oversight of the department computer systems, servers, local access networks, and/or website. Serves as a resource for training and assessment of computer/program needs.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Designs, develops, troubleshoots, and maintains databases for multiple projects with minimum supervision. Writes database applications to enter, maintain, track, and process information and data for assigned department. Develops tools for data analysis.
Maintains quality control systems and maintain existing applications and other activities required to maintain efficient and accurate data systems. Assures integrity of data sets and data elements through routine and systematic procedures.
Leads and coordinates data collection from multiple different sources. Enters and audits data for accuracy and reliability. Maintains a tracking system to ensure all information is received, audited, and keyed in a timely and accurate manner.
Performs a variety of database queries and reports. Creates complex reports. Determines appropriate format for data and results presentation, such as use of graphs, tables, etc. Consults with customers on extracting and submitting data.
Efficiently manages and maintains multiple databases. Assumes responsibility for future database as they are implemented. Performs database maintenance including documentation, backup, and quality control. Clearly and succinctly documents all data procedures.
Works with EIS to provide LAN support by maintaining the department server and software upgrades. Responsible for the development and maintenance of a server/local area network, information systems applications, and database for assigned department. Performs routine upgrades and regular backup of server/network information. May provide on-call support for clinical staff.
Participates in hardware (computer and peripherals) selection and installation, program configuration, and training and rollout of new/upgraded systems.
Troubleshoots software and hardware issues (such as: printers, scanners, digital imaging devices, etc.)
Installs applications on machines for new users.
Develops and maintains excellent working relationships with CSHS departments and their customers.
Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's in computer science or related field required
Experience:
- 2 years of progressive database experience
