Job Description
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, a nationally recognized leader in patient care, research, and education, is seeking two Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Colorectal Surgeons to join its distinguished faculty. These positions are available at the Assistant Professor and Associate Professor levels, offering an outstanding opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, multidisciplinary academic environment at one of the nation’s premier medical centers. One position will be focused on colorectal surgeons with expertise in pelvic floor.
Position Overview
The selected candidates will provide comprehensive colorectal surgical care, managing a wide range of benign and malignant conditions affecting the colon, rectum, and anus. Both roles include clinical responsibilities, teaching, and opportunities for research and academic advancement, with rank commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered colorectal surgical care
- Perform a full spectrum of procedures, including minimally invasive and robotic techniques
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including gastroenterology, oncology, radiology, and pathology
- Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows
- Participate in clinical research, scholarly activity, and quality improvement initiatives
- Contribute to program development and institutional growth

We offer competitive total compensation that includes pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for employees. Total pay range shown takes into account a wide range of factors we consider in making compensation decisions which includes knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; other business and organizational factors. Total pay range includes incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. We also offer comprehensive faculty benefits package.
Total Cash Compensation: $400,000 – 740,000
Qualifications
Qualifications (Both Positions)
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- Completion of an accredited General Surgery residency and Colorectal Surgery fellowship
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Colorectal Surgery
- Eligible for medical licensure in the State of California
- Strong commitment to clinical excellence, education, and collaboration
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Additional Qualifications by Rank
Assistant Professor:
- Early-career surgeon or recent fellowship graduate
- Demonstrated interest in teaching and/or clinical research
- Potential for academic growth and scholarly contribution
Associate Professor:
- Established clinician with several years of post-fellowship experience
- Proven track record of clinical excellence and academic productivity
- Experience in teaching, mentorship, and program development
