Cedars-Sinai’s Digestive Disease Center has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Registered Dietitian III to contribute to our mission of providing world-class care.
What will you be doing in this role?The Clinical Dietitian III has more significant experience in an acute are setting or environment consistent with job responsibilities. Clinical dietitians performing at this level are highly competent and consistently perform as experts in their professional skills and abilities. Collaborates with the patient, family/caregiver, physician, nurses, and other allied health care professionals, food services and the department leadership in the provision of care. The advanced practice dietitian has a broad knowledge base and their expertise may be in more than one area. They serve as consultants and a resource to the department and Cedars-Sinai. Dietitians at this level function as leaders and mentors within the clinical team. They lead the clinical team with motivation, creativity, and a commitment to strengthening the profession and the Clinical Nutrition Program at Cedars-Sinai. Embodies the department and organization's mission, vision, and values.
- Conducts and implements complex, comprehensive and specialized nutritional assessments.
- Directs the nutritional assessment process in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team.
- Collaborates with patient/client to facilitate active participation and assess individual needs to establish mutual nutrition-related goals.
- Acts independently as a preceptor and evaluator for student RD/RDN/DTR training programs.
- Acts as a mentor and resource for new RD/RDN/DTRs as well as less experienced clinicians.
- Leads and designs quality assessment and performance improvement project and regularly reports metrics to appropriate leadership.
Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience as a clinical dietitian/registered dietitian in an acute care setting or environment consistent with job responsibilities
- Organizational ability to include coordination of multiple projects within established timeframes, problem analysis and resolution, and excellent interpersonal skills. Patient oriented.
- Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or Nutrition required.
- M.S. in field related to job requirements preferred.
- Certification as Registered Dietitian by the Commission of Dietetic Registration required
