What will you be doing in this role?
Our Accelerator Department is looking for a Business Development Consultant to join their team on a full-time basis.
The Business Development Consultant is responsible for evaluating, analyzing, and making recommendations on new business development opportunities that are presented to Cedars-Sinai in the form of completed business plans. They will provide business development and planning support to the leadership across to our accelerator ventures team.
Supports accelerator venture team and is responsible for developing data analyses, market assessments and business analysis. To help early-stage companies and to assist the management staff with ensuring sound investment analysis.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Presentation of early-stage companies including the strategy and business plan to accelerator management to guide investment strategic decisions.
Develops complex business plans by identifying, retrieving and analyzing data, developing models and assumptions to support decisions and recommendations on strategic and business opportunities of large scope and impact to the organization; applies quantitative and qualitative data from internal and external sources to inform the business plans.
Prepares comprehensive market and trend assessments/analysis that may include demand forecasts, competitor analysis, risk assessment and research monitoring evaluation of key market trends as they are related to potential early-stage company investments.
Supports the evaluation of potential transactions for physician group and hospital affiliations and new venture opportunities.
Develops detailed financial analyses, including income statements, cash flow analysis, balance sheets, and economic valuations using standard acceptable methodologies.
Works with health system staff with implementation plans. Supports monitoring of implemented strategies and the review of business plan targets.
Provides consulting and project management support for Health System Accelerator and affiliated department leadership as needed.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Art or Science is required
- Master’s degree in MBA, MPH, MHA or MPA preferred.
Experience and Skills:
- 2 years of planning, finance and/or business development experience in a healthcare organization or consulting origination provided service to healthcare industry required.
- Travel to conferences as a representative possible
