The Associate Director, Payroll Design & Controls provides enterprise-level governance over payroll system design, configuration integrity, and preventive control frameworks within the Payroll Center of Excellence. This is a high-impact leadership role at the intersection of payroll operations, systems, and strategy—designed for a forward-thinking leader who thrives on building scalable, compliant, and high-performing payroll environments.
This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of payroll by driving design standards, strengthening control frameworks, and leading enterprise transformation initiatives, including the integration of newly acquired entities into the Oracle HCM payroll platform. You will serve as the authoritative voice on payroll design, influencing enterprise decisions and ensuring long-term operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Design & Governance
Lead the governance of Oracle payroll configuration (elements, balances, and calculation logic), ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and enterprise standards. Establish and elevate design standards, documentation, and audit traceability while driving consistency and scalability across all entities.
Controls, Audit & Integration
Champion preventive control frameworks and play a key role in audit readiness and compliance. Act as the payroll design authority for system integrations, aligning new entities to enterprise standards and ensuring seamless implementation and stabilization in a complex, evolving environment.
Operational Partnership & Leadership
Partner closely with payroll and cross-functional leaders to solve systemic challenges and translate business needs into strategic design improvements. Build and develop a high-performing team of payroll analysts while fostering a proactive, prevention-focused culture that prioritizes accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in finance, business or a related major required.
A minimum of 8 years of payroll operations experience required.
A minimum of 5 years of supervisory/management experience required.
A minimum of 5 years of knowledge of payroll policies and procedures and corresponding federal, state, and location regulations required.
Why Join Us?
Join an organization recognized for excellence and innovation, where your work will directly influence enterprise-wide payroll strategy and performance. We are committed to developing exceptional leaders, fostering an inclusive culture, and providing chances to create a meaningful impact at scale. This is more than a role—it’s an opportunity to lead, transform, and elevate payroll at an enterprise level.
