What will you be doing in this role:

The Administrative Fellowship is designed to prepare professionals to grow as forward-thinking leaders in healthcare administration. This non-clinical fellowship offers a dynamic experience through various rotations, executive exposure, leading high-impact projects aligned with both organizational priorities and individual development goals and hands-on training.

Administrative Fellows are immersed in departmental rotations tailored to the focus of each area and are paired with dedicated mentors who provide guidance through regular check-ins. The Fellow contributes to strategic initiatives and serves as project leads and/or co-leads for at least one project for each rotation and performs analysis to drive meaningful outcomes. Through mentorship, meaningful professional relationships, and experiential learning, fellows build core competencies in healthcare operations, communication, relationship management, project development and execution, budgeting, strategy, and organizational development.

This comprehensive experience equips fellows with the insight and skills needed to lead effectively within a complex and evolving healthcare environment.

  • Engages in structured rotations across different departments or areas to contribute and gain exposure to key functions, operational practices, and strategic priorities.
  • Collaborates with project sponsors to define project scopes, timelines, identify resources and learning objectives; and meets regularly to assess progress and refine goals. Meets with mentor on a recurring basis.
  • Leads, co-leads and takes ownership of at least one high-impact project from initiation to delivery that aligns with organizational priorities and drives meaningful outcomes in each rotation. This includes performing functions such as managing timelines and deliverables, analyzing workflows, identifying opportunities for improvement, and presenting actionable recommendations.
  • Conducts data and operational analysis, prepares presentations, and develops reports and recommendations to support strategic and operational initiatives.
  • Partners with rotation leaders and mentors to define goals for each experience and receive regular, constructive feedback. When working with leadership, may assess other situations, consider alternatives and determine appropriate courses of action for a project and/or an operational initiative.
  • Builds relationships with stakeholders across the organization to gain insight into challenges, innovations, and best practices. Gains in-depth knowledge of day-to-day operations in primary placement rotation departments.
  • Participates in executive and departmental leadership meetings to observe decision-making and contribute when appropriate. Shadows leaders to deepen understanding of institutional goals, programs, and impact.
  • Develops key interpersonal, analytical, and management skills through hands-on experience and mentorship.
  • In collaboration with mentors or preceptors, may define, plan and execute one capstone project or a workstream of a major organizational project aligned with organizational priorities; which may include co-leading or facilitating the completion of project deliverables, timelines, and stakeholder communications to ensure successful completion.
