Job Description
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting with the development, design, maintenance, coordination, and implementation of reporting systems for business operations and management. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, accessing data through a variety of databases and the creation of accurate, meaningful, and relevant reports for diverse audiences. Assisting with the administration and implementation of financial initiatives. Assisting in the interpretation of policies/procedures/practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Researches and writes presentations and reports.
- Prepares project reports for management, client, or others.
- Confers with other staff to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
- Reviews various key reports generated to develop standardized reports for management.
- Research benchmarking data to evaluate current processes as they are related to operations.
- Develops standardized communication tools to alert the management of various trends impacting operations.
- Builds Excel templates for reporting information.
- Assist with the coordination and development of financial modeling of organizational strategic goals and initiatives.
- Assist with the evaluation of the reliability, consistency, and integrity of financial information.
- Provides management with information from a variety of internal and external sources regarding programmatic proposals, prepares financial analyses, and manages the interpretation of sophisticated data sets.
- Works independently with management to prioritize and define information needs, translate needs into specifications, and promote automated access to key management financial information.
- Works independently with management in all matters pertaining to financial analysis, program proposals, and project management.
- Applies knowledge of CPT codes, Dx codes, and billing data to assess and report on financial performance.
- Responsible for Physician Group RVU reporting and analysis, maintaining physician compensation database; interpretation of pay practices as stipulated in services agreements
- Responsible for the preparation and development of physician employment PL’s, health-plans PLs, ad hoc analysis and other financial reports as needed.
- Reviews, analyzes, and reports on healthcare contracts (e.g., physician agreements, payer contracts) to assess financial performance, revenue generation, and profitability. Analyzes managed care contracts for compliance and financial performance, identifying areas for optimization.
Qualifications
Education:
B.A./B.S. in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Management or related field of study required. Master's degree preferred.
Experience:
Five (5) years of experience in financial analysis and reporting, preferably in a healthcare setting required. Seven (7) years of experience relevant work in Finance and Accounting departments (Compensation); Healthcare financial management experience preferred.
