Respiratory Therapist III - 12 Hour Night Shift
Job Description
The Respiratory Therapist III is an advanced Respiratory Therapist who has been trained and is independently functional in general ward therapy RT procedures, adult ventilator management, and adult care "specialty functions" that have been adjudged appropriate to shift need and approved by the Director of the Division of Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine. Respiratory Care Service "specialty functions" include: Management of Pediatric-Neonatal Ventilators and related adjuncts, Performance of Arterial Punctures for Blood gas Analysis; Performance of Bronchoscopy Assist RT procedures; Performance of Emergency Department RT procedures. An Advanced Respiratory Therapist is expected to function as assigned in the subspecialty areas in which he/she has been trained and adjudged functionally competent.
Qualifications
Education
- Assoc. Degree/College Diploma Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy or similar - minimum
- Bachelor's Degree Bachelors Degree in Respiratory Therapy or other fields - preferred
- Master's Degree Master’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy or other fields - preferred
Experience
- 5 years Respirtory Therapist with acute care experience, Trained and independently functional in all shift-specific, adult care subspecialty patient services offered by the CSMC Respiratory Care Service. - minimum
- 5 years Internal candidates must have an overall performance rating of “Meets” or higher on their last performance review - minimum
Licenses and Certifications
- RCP State License - Upon Hire minimum Must be currently licensed by the State of California as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP.)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - Upon Hire minimum Current BLS certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Upon Hire minimum Current PALS required to work in the Emergency Department.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS/ALS) - Upon Hire minimum Current ACLS certification current & valid at all times
- Registered Resp Therapist - Upon Hire minimum CRT or RRT current & valid at all times
- Other - Upon Hire minimum Other competencies, as required by specialty area (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Our compensation philosophy
We offer a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base pay range shown generally applies to the greater Los Angeles area and may vary based on work location. Our range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including knowledge/skills: relevant experience and training, education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors.
